Privacy statement
Last updated: November 2026
Dadventure is run by Aidan Kyrke-Smith in Aotearoa New Zealand. We follow the Privacy Act 2020. This page explains, in plain language, what personal information we collect, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Newsletter: your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
- Intro calls: your name, email, workplace and anything you add when you book a call.
- Course enrolment: a dad's name, email, employer and the course he's joining. For the antenatal course we may ask for an approximate due date, so you join the right class.
- Feedback: what you tell us in post-course surveys. Quotes are only published anonymously or with your permission.
- Emails and messages you send us.
We don't ask for health information. If you choose to share something personal in a session, it stays in that session.
Why we collect it
To run courses, book calls, send the newsletter you signed up for, reply to you, and improve what we do. We don't sell your information or use it for anything else.
What your employer sees
If your workplace enrolled you, they see that you enrolled and in which course, plus a summary of anonymous feedback themes from across the group. They never see what you said in a session or anything that identifies you in the feedback.
Who else holds it
We use trusted services to run Dadventure: Substack (newsletter), Calendly (bookings), and Google (email, video calls and documents). Some of these store data overseas. We choose providers with privacy protections comparable to New Zealand's.
We'll only share your information beyond this if the law requires it, or if we believe it's needed to prevent a serious threat to someone's life or safety.
How long we keep it
Only as long as we need it. Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe. Enrolment and feedback records are kept for up to two years, then deleted or made anonymous.
Your rights
You can ask to see the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email admin@dadventure.net and we'll respond within 20 working days. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in every email.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your information, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
Cookies and website services
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. It loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google when you visit. The newsletter sign-up box is provided by Substack, and the booking page by Calendly; these may set their own cookies when you use them.
